Without a doubt, Ayrton Senna is regarded as a legend in Formula One. However, his fame and following aren’t limited to just F1. In fact, NASCAR part-time Xfinity driver Ty Gibbs confessed that he is a huge admirer of the late Brazilian. In light of this, Gibbs unveiled a new helmet design that greatly resembled Senna’s helmet design.
Gibbs has been in an excellent run of form, even though he is a part-time runner. In just two appearances, the 18-year-old has finished in the Top 2, including a win in his first race. Suffice to say, his star is just rising and is continuing to do so. The rookie driver is supremely talented and is event fighting for the ARCA Menards Series championship.
Gibbs is well on his way to becoming the Rookie of the Year and is in with a shout of the ARCA title. One can be confident that the youngster may soon earn a full-time seat in the Xfinity series in the near future. However, the driver must be able to keep up his momentum during his next few cameos.
Ty Gibbs is a huge admirer of the Brazilian F1 legend.
Apparently, Gibbs was obsessed with the mythos of Ayrton Senna. In his younger days, he would often watch clips of the Formula One legend’s races; he never failed to miss any interviews involving the late three-time world champion and would take Senna’s words to heart.
Without a doubt, Ayrton Senna was a brilliant racer, but he was often polarizing. Nevertheless, nobody can deny that the McLaren legend was an incredible driver. This explains why Ty Gibbs is such a big fan of the F1 star.
Ayrton made his mark and cemented an untouchable legacy in the sport. Without a doubt, Gibbs will be looking forward to his next NASCAR Xfinity Series race in 2021, hoping to do the same, eventually.
